Their permanent exhibition "New York at Its Core"
is depicting the history of New York culture,
where you could find PUNK vol. 1 with John
Holmstrom's illustration on the cover, as well
as the Ramones photo for their first album

The exhibit is divided into each decade of NY,
illustrating the culture, arts and music of the time;
those photos are included in the 70's section,
where you can learn about the downtown music
scene like New Wave, Punk and No Wave movement.

Also on their webpage Notable New Yorker,
there is an interview of Roberta Bayley;
amazing story about how she started her life in
New York, working at CBGB and then PUNK
magazine, and capturing the downtown music
scene back in 70s, including Ramones album
cover photo.

Witnessing the changes of the neighborhood from
the same apartment that she has been living since
70s, Roberta says that there is a community in the
East Village, and "creativity is still doing OK".
