John Holmstrom exhibition

19201

Do you know what this is? You would say that
it is the illustration on the back side of Ramones
Rocket to Russia album cover done by PUNK
Magazine's John Holmstrom...

19202

Yes and no; it is a lapel pin of the Pin Head
riding the rocket, from that cover illustration!
John was very close to Ramones especially in the
beginning of the band, when he often made
articles about them on PUNK, and provided many
illustration for their albums.
This must be the proof that over 40 years later
and Ramones are still loved by so many people,
and so as John's artwork!

He described in his blog that he was "just blown away"
by this pin, and it also gave him the idea to have
an exhibition of the artwork he did for the Ramones.

A few months past since; and it's already happening!

19203
The exhibition would be the collection of all he did with
the band; illustrations, cartoons, album art and
posters, even "tributes, parodies and tattoos that
were inspired by all the stuff I did with the Ramones".
Sounds like we need a rocket to NYC to see the show!

The exhibition ALL THE STUFF I DID WITH RAMONES
would be held at 72 Gallery in downtown NYC,
the same place photographer Godlis had his show,
and Summer & Smoke exhibit curated by Roberta
Bayley had been on. From Sep 5 to Oct 17.
