Godlis photos on rock album
Photographer Godlis sent us some pictures of the rock album that featured his photographs.
We have talked about the album cover photos of "This Stupid World" by rock band Yo La Tengo, which has been released on Feb. 11; this time we would like to show some photos of its inner sleeves and the booklet that Godlis just sent to us.
The vinyl version got 2 discs; one sleeve has a b&w photo of "Enter Here", apparently an entrance of a venue?
...and a color photo of a hat shop on the other side.
The other sleeve got a b&w photo of "International School of Animal Arts". Interesting.
Photo of the band on stage is on the other side, which was taken by another photographer.
The CD version features same photos by Godlis on the booklet, plus "a bonus photo" of a car parked in the snow, which only used on this booklet.
"Sorry" written on the snow covered window.
Photos were carefully chosen by member of Yo La Tengo from the vast photo archive at Godlis headquarters; there are certain narrative qualities with all these photos which help creating a unique vibe as a whole.
By the way the labels on the vinyls are cut out of the window photo on the back cover; Godlis san seems to like the idea a lot, saying "the designer did real good job on this" in the video.
Yes, the video, he sent us "unboxing ceremony" short clip explaining all those details.
