Roberta, Godlis Punk photo exhibit, 3
Punk photo exhibit BLANK GENERATION is now being held in Vicenza, Italy.
Godlis san just sent us additional photos and comments about the show and events!
"Roberta’s photographs and my photographs were back to back on two sides of a dividing wall,
which was really cool for viewing them.
You could walk down one wall, then turn the corner and view the other wall. "
"We got to meet many fans there."
"Then we went over to answer questions from the students in the Palazzo Chiericati - also designed by Palladio. "
Surrounded by fans, Roberta san looks happy!
And we got some more photos from their stay in Italy.
He did not stop shooting even during the exhibit events,
and naturally he does not stop in the street either, never lose a chance to shoot what he sees.
Even in Italy, what he shoots become his signature street photography.
At the airport on their return.
Both photos capturing the moments with the contrast of people and the surroundings.
You could see some stories in them.
And here is Roberta's photo; caption says,
"Richard Hell fan, Vicenza. Yes it is a permanent tattoo. Yes, she was lovely. Devotion."
So the phrase was taken from the above photo of godfather of punk Richard Hell shot by Roberta.
You suppose to fill the blank in "YOU MAKE ME ____" to finish the sentence; yes, punk like DIY.
The exhibit name BLANK GENERATION is of course taken from the title of a song/album by Richard Hell,
and the photo was used on the album cover of Blank Generation.
So getting tattoo and come to show it to the actual person who took that photo, that is devotion.
"We are now friends, and corresponding!" says Roberta san.
So Roberta san enjoyed every minute in Italy.
...but back home in East Village, her lovely companion Vera is waiting for her.
Please come back from Vicenza!
